Col du Galibier - 2645 meters.

This is one of the most often climbed cols in the Tour de France.  It's location is a critical north/south route through the central French Alps.    Often a pivotal climb but usually climbed midway though a stage.

These photos were taken during the '99 Tour when it was climbed North to South.  This is the longer harder route via the col du Telegraph.    In 2000 it was climbed from the south via the Col du Lautaret.
